God's Law in Light of Torah

What is the proper perspective to have of or about God's Law?

When you read or study Torah are you understanding yourself to be studying God's Law? Do you know that the word Torah means Law, Teaching, Instruction, and even Direction?

With the new covenant do we keep or do we continue to keep God's Law?

In Yeshua we have more than the Law, not less. Do you agree? If you agree can you state why you agree? If you do not agree can you state why you do not?

May we learn of God as we study the old covenant, the Law, and the new covenant, all from the Bible.

The Pharisees took the ordinances and the law of Moses and came up with over 600 laws and rules for holy living and called it the Torah. Jesus condemned them for doing that.

The first five books of the Bible are called the Torah. There are over 600 commands of God in the Torah, yes. They were counted later as I understand it. Nothing wrong with God's commands. What do you mean by the law of Moses? Interesting to hear from you with your post here.

Jesus never condemned the Pharisees for following the Law.

He condemned them for replacing the Law with the traditions of men.

Mark 7:9-13
9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
10 For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
12 And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

Take this Book of the Law and put it beside the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there as a witness against you. (Deuteronomy 31:26 NKJV)

This scripture is found in the Torah.

Anything in the Bible that tells us to do something is law. The law of Moses covers every aspect of ones life. There is nothing in life that is not covered by law.

Even today some Jews will not move a chair on the Sabbath for fear of breaking the law.

God never intended for his people to live according to laws and rules. Today we are called to live by Spirit and faith and NOT the letter of the law, 2 Corinthians 3:6.

Is the Law God's Law intended by God or not?
