The apostle Paul ties circumcision and baptism together (in the spiritual sense) to the cross & resurrection.
So since both are tied together in that way then can what is said about one also be said about the other as well?
Since scripture says we must understand the earthly in order to understand the spiritual, we should talk about what earthly circumcision and baptism accomplished and did not accomplish first.
So what did circumcision of the flesh actually accomplish?
Did it make one a member of God's covenant people?
The ancient culture of Egyptians practiced circumcision too.
Did that make them God's covenant people?
Jewish women were not circumcised.
Were they not included as God's covenant people?
Did circumcision make Jews faithful to YHWH?
Apparently not, since many of them apostatized.
So what did circumcision of the flesh actually dooooooo for the people that did it??????
