America has been referred to as a "sovereign" nation, and a nation that 227 years ago wrote a declaration of independence from another nations oppression.
We as Christian's have our own independence, an independence from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. But, we are not to consider ourselves as a people who are independent, but rather dependent on the One who set us free! While America may be a comfortable nation to live in, we are still aliens and strangers to this land, for our citizenship is in heaven, and our home is in Christ!
On this day, let us not forget whose we are!
"For he who was called in the Lord while a slave, is the Lord's freedman; likewise he who was called while free, is Christ's slave. You were bought with a price; do not become slaves of men.
