‘Transabled’? Healthy People Now Maiming Themselves Out of Desire to Identify as Disabled
This is totally messed up.

A recent article published by a Canadian newspaper outlines that now following transgenderism is a class of people who believe that they are disabled people trapped in a healthy person’s body—and are going so far as to injure and maim themselves so that they can align with their preferred identity.
“As the public begins to embrace people who identify as transgender, the trans people within the disability movement are also seeking their due, or at very least a bit of understanding in a public that cannot fathom why anyone would want to be anything other than healthy and mobile,” Sarah Boesveld with the National Post wrote on June 3.
She tells the story of a man named Jason, who purposefully cut off his right arm because of his desire to be disabled. He had attempted a number of times to cut or smash the limb, and studied how to carry out his goal without bleeding to death.
“My goal was to get the job done with no hope of reconstruction or re-attachment, and I wanted some method that I could actually bring myself to do,” he told ModBlog.
And according to the report, there are others like Jason around the world, although estimates were not provided as to how many people actually seek to be disabled.
“We define transability as the desire or the need for a person identified as able-bodied by other people to transform his or her body to obtain a physical impairment,” Alexandre Baril, who presented on the matter at a local university earlier this month, told the Post. “The person could want to become deaf, blind, amputee, paraplegic. It’s a really, really strong desire.”
One man allegedly dropped a concrete block on his leg so that he would have to have it amputated, but was unsuccessful. Some, who have no injury at all, use a wheelchair or wear braces to identify as disabled.
“These ‘transabled’ people wish to be given the same level of acceptance as those who wish to transition from one gender to another,” Warner Todd Huston with Breitbart.com explained.
“But just as a debate still rages on whether or not insurance or even government assistance should be given to the ‘transgender’ community, the next debate in the wings is whether taxpayers should be stuck footing the bill for people who want perfectly good arms, legs, eyes, or ears destroyed surgically to satisfy their ‘transabled’ feelings,” he continued.
Huston said that the issue presents a variety of questions and concerns.
“Should someone who purposefully had their working leg(s) removed to satisfy their ‘transabled’ mania be allowed to use handicapped parking?” he asked. “Should they get government assistance generally offered only for those disabled at birth or by health problems or accidents? Should they get special treatment in stores or public venues like disabled people often do?”
Marsha West of Berean Research likewise opined that with “trans” persons becoming more vocal in today’s society, right and wrong is further becoming muddled.
“What’s really at issue here is that it’s no longer deemed appropriate to view people as having psychological disorders—and the fact of the matter is that trans-people do have a psychological disorder,” she wrote in a blog post on Sunday. “Because the Left is bent on making the most perverted and bizarre human behaviors ‘normal,’ pretty much anything goes in our moral relativistic society.”
This is totally messed up.
