Double-Edged Sword
[Heb 4:1-2, 12-13
] [1] Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it.
[2] For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard [it]. ...
[12] For the word of God [is] living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
[13] And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things [are] naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we [must give] account.
[Jhn 14:27
[27] "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Heb 3:14
14 For we have become partakers of Christ IF we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end,
I Jn 1:8-10
8 IF we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 IF we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 IF we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
2 Cor 10:3-5
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
I Jn 2:3-5
[3] Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
4 He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.
John 15:10
10 "IF you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.
John 15:14
14 "You are My friends IF you do whatever I command you.
I Jn 2:3
3 Now by this we know that we know Him, IF we keep His commandments.
XXX The Jews worshiped in the flesh. They used the law of sin and death on others. While they themselves were sinners. And it always come back on them. They emotionally kept the law. And their emotions pushed them to making others live up to the law or be punished. They used it on each other.
Jesus came to show them they have it backwards. They should be useing the law on themselves and forgiving others. But the emotions of the Jews drove them into crucifying Jesus. This is why Jesus told us to crucify all our emotions. The Holy Spirit reveals our emotions to us with the verses. The Holy Spirit is sent to comfort and convict us with the new testament verses. He convicts us of your emotions and then comforts us by showing us what love is, to suffer wrongfully against our emotions. And love is the only way to salvation.
