President Trump, who has been criticized for not visiting US troops during the holidays, slipped off to an air base in Iraq on Wednesday.

Trump, wearing a dark suit and red tie, and first lady Melania Trump met with military personnel on Wednesday at Al Asad Air Base in Iraq just west of Baghdad – his first visit with military members in in a war zone since he entered the White House almost two years ago.

He told the gathered servicemen and women, many of whom were wearing fatigues, that he has “no plans at all” to pull them out of the country, where they’ve been helping Iraq forces battle Islamic State terrorists

Unfortunately the timing of this trip is suspect with "The Donald" using this trip strictly for "political" reasons - to promote public support for his decision for military withdrawals from Syria and Afghanistan and as a diversion from the "chaos" that he left behind in Washington!

This Commander-and-Chief views the US military as "props" to promote his personal "political agenda!"

Someone should demand that Trump make his medical records public concerning the "bone spurs" that disqualified him from military service - just like he demanded that Obama produce his birth certificate to prove that he was an American citizen!

Trump, during his only visit to the troops in his 2 years as President, outright lies to them about a pay raise:

“You haven't gotten one in more than 10 years,” Trump said. “More than 10 years. And we got you a big one. I got you a big one. I got you a big one.

“They said, ‘You know, we could make it smaller. We could make it 3%. We could make it 2%. We could make it 4%,’” Trump claimed. “I said, ‘No. Make it 10%. Make it more than 10%.’ Because it's been a long time. It's been more than 10 years. It's been more than 10 years. That's a long time.

Total lies.

1) The military has received a pay raise every year for the past 30 years,

2) The pay raise this year was 2.6%. Nowhere near the 10% that Trump boasted.

But not only that, Trump actually pushed for the military raise to be LOWER than recommended:

[Military] pay increases are determined by a statutory formula, and Trump in fact requested an amount below the automatic adjustment for 2018. Congress overrode the president’s proposal, and Trump ultimately agreed to fully fund the increase as determined by federal law.

Does he think that the troops won't know that he's lying to them about a 10% pay raise they didn't get? Or does he just have no clue to what's going on (even though he signed the pay increase)? Either way, it's pathetic. He clearly couldn't care less about the troops and is only concerned with aggrandizing himself and feeding the supporters who continue eat up any lie he tells them.

This isn't the first time Trump has brazenly lied about military pay raises.

This is the year Trump goes and ties up all the loose ends preparing for 2020.
Basically everything is going to be suspicious because it's not 100% genuine- the wall is to fulfill his campaign promise even though it's not really anything remarkable, and half the reason why he's over there in Iraq is likely so that he can show up all the people in the House on vacation by doing something he would've not done otherwise- pretty sure he had a vacation lined up before this recent thing with Congress.
