Does God Have Favorites?

Does God love some people more than others?

It is only natural for God to love those that love him. We show our love for God by believing in his Son Jesus Christ and embracing him as our only means of salvation. It is not possible to love and honor God and reject or subvert the work of his Son Jesus Christ. To dishonor God's Son is to dishonor God.

"Whosoever that denies the Son does not have the Father, but he that acknowledges the Son also has the Father" 1 John 2:23.

To deny that Jesus is the savior of the world, is to deny God's Son Jesus Christ, especially when Jesus claims to be the savior of the whole world, John 12:47, 1 John 2:2, 1 John 4:14. To say that Jesus did not defeat sin, death and the devil is to deny Jesus, Colossians 2:15. If Jesus did not defeat sin, death and the devil then Jesus is NOT Lord and should be removed from his position of honor and respect at the right hand of God, Hebrews 1:3.

God's favorites are those who honor his Son by believing in him and in believing what he has accomplished in our name and on our behalf. Calvinism does not honor God's Son because they do not believe that he has atoned for the sins of the whole world. They believe that Jesus only atoned for the sins of some, but not all. Hebrews 2:9 tells us that Jesus has atoned for everyones sins. To say otherwise is to deny God's Son. Catholics also believe that Jesus did NOT defeat sin, death and the devil and that to be saved you must participate in your salvation by the works of the law.

We give Jesus his rightful place as Lord by acknowledging the he is "The King of Kings and the Lord of Lords" Revelation 19:16. To believe otherwise is to dishonor God and his Son Jesus Christ. Trying to be saved some other way than by Christ and his Gospel, dishonors God and his Son Jesus Christ.

And if one's traditions won't accept God's Word as written, conjure another meaning for loved, world, whosoever, etc.

It's a cult.

You said that is all they have to do, you said call on the name of the Lord and do nothing more to be saved.

Since they are saved according to your understanding why do you pick on them?

God is not a respecter of persons. He does not love one of His children more than another. He also loved the whole world, which is why He gave His own Son to die for them. He loved us before we loved Him.

Calvinist and Catholics are not saved.

They do not honor God's Son.

What makes you think that they have called on Christ to save them?

In a sense God is the Father of humanity and is not willing that any should perish, 2 Peter 3:9.

But unfortunately, some would rather go to hell than to honor his Son.

God's love is perfect, just as every aspect of His being is without blemish. The scripture says "God is no respecter of persons". Our relationship with Him is the essence of the meaning of the term "religion", or "coming back to God." He never moves. It's we who sin and do the moving. We don't like the idea of parents favoring one over another. So how could God be guilty of this weakness of human behavior? His children are granted things that the unfaithful aren't simply because the unfaithful are gone and need only return.

Backtrack. Backtrack. Backtrack.

Did you say, "Its over, its finished, so that now those who do nothing more than call on the Lord shall be saved "Whosoever that shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved" Romans 10:13.

Why do you claim they do not call on the name of the Lord. Catholics call on the name of the Lord and Mary and the saints, what more do you want?

They have covered all the bases they can think of.

Of course He does, Deut 7:6-7

6 For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
7 The Lord did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people

I do not see anything that believers get that unbelievers do not also get, and often times a lot more. A blessing of God is not contingent on us, but Him. That is why He is above humanity and our puny, exaggerated wisdom. What Christians can depend upon is the riches of God in His spiritual blessings. After all, in Christ we have no fear of the future or death or the wages of sin. We are freed. For me, that is the most remarkable deal ever. If God wants to bless me with material stuff, so be it, but that is not why I am His child and choose to serve Him.

Without the Son, no one has the Father. No one.

1 John 2:23
Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: [but] he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. 24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

False statement - that was for Israel only, not calvin's cult
