D-Day today...

OK folks it looks like today could be the day for the big move.

We will be moving this entire site to a new server.

It is VERY likely that you will find "issues" with TOL for the next few days.

I apologize in advance for these "issues" but in the long run TOL will be much better on the new server.

I am guessing the actual move will start sometime this afternoon 06-29-2004.

I have no idea what that time translates to, so I'll just hope for the best.

So far the move is going rather well.

It seems that some of the apostrophes on some of the posts that were made prior to the move have been changed to question marks.

For example

"don't" has been changed to "don?t"

Check out post 1047 for real life examples.

I noticed that the other day. I forget who it was, but I asked someone, "What's with all the question marks?"

Then I started to see it occassionally in other posts.

Actually I think that is something that happened on that post.

Not sure what the deal is.

Blazing fast on my machine!!!!

TOL is much faster now because we no longer share a single processor with 100's of other websites.

It should get even faster within 48 hours when our domain name is actually pointing to the new server.

Currently the domain name is being routed locally until the DNS change actually occurs.
