There are a number of reasons that's wrong, but given no one has even met your litmus, modifying without disclaimer, it's pointless to go into it...or maybe I will anyway. :think:

In general that's true. Here's where the particulars matter. In a forum where chrys and nearly everyone routinely truncate and otherwise make use of other people's writing in agreement and in difference, the usage and patterning becomes a permission and even outside of that you have permissible and impermissible usage, depending on attribution and purpose (like satire).
Nothing here has given chrys a legitimate cause of action and if it did he'd be routinely hoisted on his own petard.

No, I note the alteration as its made and I support a judgment with evidence and argument. What you did was hide an alteration within a thing that itself is turned to make accusation without any supportive tissue at all...
