Christians Still Against Gay Marriage, tick, tock

This is the show from Wednesday November 12th, 2008.

BEST QUOTE OF THE SHOW:
Today our Christian leaders are against homosexual marriage. Publically. They're against it. But let me suggest to you the reason they take that stand. It's not because that's what the Bible says because the Bible says so many things that our Christian leaders won't touch. It's because it's still politically correct for conservative Christians to oppose legalized homosexual marriages. That's still politcally correct. It's no longer politically correct for our Christian leaders to oppose the decriminalization, the legalization of pornography. That's not politically correct. That's considered to be backward. And so our Christian leaders support that you have a free speech right to produce pornography.

SUMMARY:

* Homosexual Marriage? -- Phul-leez: Loose show transcript (fitting, no?): Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Judge Judy both support homosexual marriage, and who cares. No? Previously it was scandalous if Dear Abby suggested that homosexuality should be legal. But those days are LONG GONE. Then, it was far less scandalous when George W. Bush came out of the closet in favor of homosexual civil unions. But those days too are gone. Today, our Christian leaders, for now, at least for the moment, oppose homosexual marriage, but they also support the recent decriminalization of homosexuality. They support equal rights for homosexuals (for another example, click here and search for 'Colson'). Our religious leaders just don't want homosexuals to write text books for kids, or have various other rights, including marriage (although Sarah Palin vetoed a law prohibiting marriage-like benefits to homosexual partners). But as a general rule, leaders today believe what was scandalous just thirty years ago, that homosexuality should be legal. It was only back in 1986 when the Supreme Court in Bowers v. Hardwick ruled that Georgia's law prohibiting homosexual behavior was constitutional. Back then, during the Middle Ages, just following the Dark Ages, way back in 1986, our Christian leaders actually believed that homosexual behavior should be criminal. Today, as moral relativists, with their beliefs changing, rather quickly, with the culture, they promote equal rights for homosexuals. You've come a long way baby! That is, our Christian leaders have worked to legitimize homosexuality, that means, to declare it legally valid. And we document that, irrefutably, and with specific quotes from quite a few major Christian leaders and ministries. Now it's true, the Republicans on the Supreme Court reversed themselves. They typically reverse themselves only if they are moving from right to wrong. They don't repent from doing evil. They'll typically reverse themselves only from what is good, to what is wicked. So the Republican Supreme Court overturned their own Hardwick case, very recently, just in 2003, and they decriminalized homosexuality nationally, in Lawrence v. Texas, and our Christian leaders at the time said, "Well, Clarence Thomas wrote a dissenting opinion, so we should consider that. Of course, in his dissent, Thomas wrote, and I'll paraphrase his legal-speak, that those of us who believe homosexual behavior should be criminal, as it has been in Judaeo-Christian societies for 3,500 years, including throughout the founding of America, that we were absurd. Thomas advocated that the government promote homosexual rights. But he wanted it done using a different process, rather than going to court complaining about an unconstitutional law. So, it's no longer controversial if the Republican president supports homosexual civil unions; nor if their nominee John McCain votes against the Federal Marriage Amendment as he did along with Barack Obama; nor if major public figures, including Republicans, advocate even for homosexual marriage, like Judge Judy and Arnold. But at least our leaders still oppose homosexual marriage. For now. Tick tock, tick tock...

Today's Resource: Remember Steve from Ontario? He called in a while back and urged people to watch the Bob Enyart Live DVDs including Terry's Call, Amy's Call, and a host of other great shows! Terry's Call is from a homosexual who really disliked BEL, until he became a Christian, and shortly afterward, passed away...
