I think when Jenkins says early next year, he meant 2018. The really great news is that this is a first in how Christian film production should be: a public offer, SEC- checked. The time for mysterious and crowd-funded is over. It's seldom enough money.
I wrote to 100 christian producers last year and tried to get them to use the producer-writer exchange called Inktip and at the end of the effort, it had worked, though not for me directly: WAR ROOM's money was being rolled over into its next production, offering a $5M budget to a script that satisfied them.
