A Democracy Of Gullible Sheep

I was interested in the Time Magazine piece so I could juxtapose the video (don't know if I'll finish it, I don't want to waste 44 minutes on The Blaze. But interesting start. She names the article, so it's easy to find, thank you to whoever she is. Then she starts quoting.

I bolded the part she left out. She skipped right past it! However did that happen?!

... a loosely organized coalition of operatives scrambled to shore up America’s institutions as they came under simultaneous attack from a remorseless pandemic and an autocratically inclined President. Though much of this activity took place on the left, it was separate from the Biden campaign and crossed ideological lines, with crucial contributions by nonpartisan and conservative actors. The scenario the shadow campaigners were desperate to stop was not a Trump victory. It was an election so calamitous that no result could be discerned at all, a failure of the central act of democratic self-governance that has been a hallmark of America since its founding.
Their work touched every aspect of the election. They got states to change voting systems and laws and helped secure hundreds of millions in public and private funding. They fended off voter-suppression lawsuits, recruited armies of poll workers and got millions of people to vote by mail for the first time. They successfully pressured social media companies to take a harder line against disinformation and used data-driven strategies to fight viral smears.

Oh my! In the midst of a pandemic, HOW DARE citizens, politicians, activists, corporations work together to make sure people could access their voting rights! They what? FENDED OFF VOTER SUPPRESSION? How dare they! But it gets worse! THEY MADE SURE THEY HAD ENOUGH POLL WORKERS! AND ENCOURAGED VOTING BY MAIL! Dastardly! But worst of all... THEY PRESSURED SOCIAL MEDIA TO TAKE A HARDER LINE AGAINST DISINFORMATION.

The article goes on:

"The untold story of the election is the thousands of people of both parties who accomplished the triumph of American democracy at its very foundation," says Norm Eisen, a prominent lawyer and former Obama Administration official who recruited Republicans and Democrats to the board of the Voter Protection Program.
But wait, there's more:

For Trump and his allies were running their own campaign to spoil the election. The President spent months insisting that mail ballots were a Democratic plot and the election would be “rigged.” His henchmen at the state level sought to block their use, while his lawyers brought dozens of spurious suits to make it more difficult to vote–an intensification of the GOP’s legacy of suppressive tactics. Before the election, Trump plotted to block a legitimate vote count. And he spent the months following Nov. 3 trying to steal the election he’d lost–with lawsuits and conspiracy theories, pressure on state and local officials, and finally summoning his army of supporters to the Jan. 6 rally that ended in deadly violence at the Capitol.
The democracy campaigners watched with alarm. “Every week, we felt like we were in a struggle to try to pull off this election without the country going through a real dangerous moment of unraveling,” says former GOP Representative Zach Wamp, a Trump supporter who helped coordinate a bipartisan election-protection council. “We can look back and say this thing went pretty well, but it was not at all clear in September and October that that was going to be the case.”
Back to finish the article. Maybe I'll update. : )

Deep State Boasts of “Conspiracy” Against Trump in 2020 Election

Deep State Boasts of “Conspiracy” Against Trump in 2020 Election

Now that they think their anointed is safely enthroned at the White House, the Deep State, through its propaganda mouthpiece Time magazine, is gloating over a “conspiracy” of Big Business, Big Tech, Big Government, Big Labor, and other powerful forces to oust President Trump from office. The behind-the-scenes operation has eerie parallels with “Color Revolutions” staged in foreign lands by the very same operatives who took down Trump.
In a piece by the far-left Time magazine headlined “The Secret History of the Shadow Campaign That Saved the 2020 Election,” propagandist Molly Ball gloats about it all.

“There was a conspiracy unfolding behind the scenes, one that both curtailed the protests and coordinated the resistance from CEOs,” she wrote, saying Trump was “right” about the orchestrated plot to oust him. “Both surprises were the result of an informal alliance between left-wing activists and business titans.

The conspiracy involved “a well-funded cabal of powerful people, ranging across industries and ideologies, working together behind the scenes to influence perceptions, change rules and laws, steer media coverage and control the flow of information,” Ball explained, bragging of her role as their mouthpiece to tell their version of the story without pesky fairness or even any opportunity to comment for victims of the effort.
One example she cited of the “alliance” of conspirators against Trump was a joint statement by the globalist U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the far-left AFL-CIO labor union published on election day. It involved Big Business and Big Labor joining forces to oppose what the propagandist describes, without giving details or evidence, as Trump’s “assault on democracy” — never mind that the true assault on self-government came from the conspirators.
But of course, as Time admits, that alliance between anti-American business bigwigs and far-left labor organizers was just the tip of the iceberg of the anti-Trump machinery that was working to destroy the president. “The handshake between business and labor was just one component of a vast, cross-partisan campaign to protect the election,” wrote Ball, touting a “loosely organized coalition of operatives” that was mostly on the left but included NeverTrump “conservatives” as well.

Something interesting I learned today. I kept seeing this "thenewamerican" so I looked it up -

The New American is published by American Opinion Publishing Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the John Birch Society.

What's old radical right is new radical right.

I used to share your fear of the John Birch society. That was when I still believed the mockingbird media: two to three decades ago. The John Birch society is one of the best organizations around for fighting socialism, and that's why the mockingbird media is their enemy. Their published books and articles have large amounts of footnotes. They show right where they found all of their material. If they are speaking about a person they quote the person's own words. When speaking of organizations they quote leaders of that organization. The depth of their research is incredible. They are truth tellers not liars.

For those of you who are in your fifties, sixties, and seventies, and you look at the John Birch society suspiciously because you heard so much negativity about them earlier in your life, remember where it came from: the mockingbird media who lies to us about everything. That's where my negative attitudes about them came from. And after reading John Birch society material for a few years came to understand why the media lies about them constantly. The John Birch society debunks the mockingbird media's narratives.

Alex Newman and James Perloff write some very good stuff. I've been reading Newman for 3 years or so. I've been reading Perloff for 7 or 8 years. I highly recommend them both.

I wonder why the swamp is know as a swamp and not as swamps? It's because congress is known as a uniparty, not as being made up of two parties plus independents. The level of corruption is massive.

Long but worth the time - critical of both sides of the aisle. How we got where we are, and why so few understand exactly where we are
