Are you born again (John 3)? Take this test.

I can’t remember how to work this quoting stuff, so I’ll just mush it altogether. I’ve read that Hebrew manuscripts date back to Moses, and there are certainly a lot of Hebrew sounding names early on. I’m a bit taken aback there would be any doubt that Hebrew was spoken by the Jews back in...

Ah, I can see from this that we have a lot to discuss. 😌

How To Get To Heaven When You Die

You may not recall, but I did disagree with you on this subject once before. Confessing with the mouth was required of the Jews. Not so with believers In this age of grace.

Are you born again (John 3)? Take this test.

Very true. I guess that’s why the Bible is still being used today. Must be something special about that book. 😉 No one quotes from the New Testament except for us Johnny-come-lately folks. By that, of course, I mean those in the church age.

Are you born again (John 3)? Take this test.

Do you have proof of that? You say, do you not, that John was writing to the Jews? You don’t think he wrote to them in their own language? I‘ve been away from this board for quite some time, so it’s hard to tell where I got these ideas. I’m confident there is a basis right there in the...

Is John 3:7 for today ?

Perhaps you could explain exactly what that verse is referring to? Perhaps I’m missing your point. I must be, because it’s eluding me. It‘s certainly true Israel is an unbelieving nation, but that nation was BORN in 1948. A nation born in a day. It will be hard for Israel after the...

Are you born again (John 3)? Take this test.

Yeah, it could be either or both, as far as that goes. I can’t help but lean toward Word….speaking something into being. There’s something about speaking rather than thinking something into being. But, back to being born again, was Jesus telling Nicodemus the nation had to be born again...

Are you born again (John 3)? Take this test.

I think it’s the other way around. John was a Jew. Wasn’t that his native tongue?

Are you born again (John 3)? Take this test.

Check this out. John 1 in the Hebrew says the WORD is Devar Hashem, and means “the words of the master God“ literally means the name, and it’s used all throughout the Old Testament. That actually makes sense to me. and than in revelation where his name is called the word of god…..

Is John 3:7 for today ?

Indeed I love that portion of scripture, and the nation of Israel is His focus many a time, but on occasion He is answering a direct question first and, in this case it was how He was able to do what only God can do. Isn’t He explaining that He is God and that it is on a spiritual plane that...

Are you born again (John 3)? Take this test.

So I guess my problem is with the translation that calls the Creator of the universe Logic. What happens with all the times we read, “God said…”? Who exactly speaks, and who became flesh? It’s confusing. So, just maybe the KJV version is referring to the Word (Spoken into being) instead of...

No I have no proof. But I’m really curious. Guess my common sense tells me so. Wonder where we can find out. 🤔

Is John 3:7 for today ?

Question - A thought just occurred to me. Is it possible Jesus was speaking firstly of how He was God and had the power to heal. Perhaps this is like a parable that He assumes will go over this Pharisee’s head. Here’s the deal…..I AM God. He seems to be holding out the promise of a future...

Are you born again (John 3)? Take this test.

Word not words. I believe it’s more accurate because HE SPOKE the world into existence. “And God said let there be light.” Also, being Jewish, I don’t think John wrote his epistle in Greek. I would assume it was translated into the Greek.

Romans chapter one explains we are created with the knowledge of God in us, yet that alone is not enough.

I think I can remember this topic. So logic became flesh and dwelt among us. I don’t want to side track your thread, but I wonder what the Hebrew would say. It just strikes me as odd considering it’s His name. 🤔
