  • I just stumbled across your response here. You should click the "view conversation" tab under a post made by anyone to this profile page and then answer there. That will send your answer to the page of the person leaving it. Else, they won't know you had anything to say unless they return and some of us stay a bit too busy to think of that....As to my your designation, I'm not arguing with you, I'm only explaining why you'll run into any number of the faithful who will shun you as a mocker.
TH, I have never been a Muslim, nor have I studied the Koran, or done extensive research on the historical validity of Islam. I am giving my attentions to Christianity because I considered myself a regular Christian until I started having specific doubts about a year ago, and even now I have not reached a conclusion to cease calling myself a Christian. If I changed my affiliation every time I reviewed my beliefs on something, I would be all over the map. I do not think it is unreasonable or disingenuous to call myself "Christian (Other)" as opposed to some other religion, which would be less accurate IMO.
For what it's worth, few among the faithful will have much substantively to say to one they feel is disingenuous in approach. To designate yourself as Christian (and yes, I read your explanation) when you do not place yourself under the authority of Christ is offensive to most who do. By your own explanation you are no more Christian than you are a Muslim, even if you're inclined to consider Christianity more thoughtfully or particularly in the moment.
Ah, now I can finally post visitor messages!
To answer your question, I don't know of a denomination that represents my beliefs fully. Sheesh, I don't even know what all of mine are yet anyway. That's why I came here: to learn, not to teach.
